The Battle of Los Angeles is the third studio album by Rage Against the Machine. It was released on November 2, 1999, and over three years after their second studio album, Evil Empire. Between Evil Empire and Los Angeles, the band released a live album, titled Live & Rare.

The song "Calm Like a Bomb" is featured in the credits of The Matrix Reloaded. The videos to "Sleep Now in the Fire" and "Testify" were directed by documentarian Michael Moore. Both "Testify" and "Guerrilla Radio" are also featured in the video game Rock Band 2, being on-disc and downloadable, respectively.

The album debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top 200 selling 420,000 copies its first week. That week saw a busy CD release schedule. The album denied Mariah Carey's highly anticipated album the chance to open at #1. "Guerrilla Radio" was featured in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, albeit heavily edited on the Nintendo 64 version, and it is also heavily edited on "Madden NFL 10". Both Time and Rolling Stone named it the Best Album of 1999. It was listed as #53 in SPIN Magazine's 100 Greatest Albums, 1985-2005.

The album cover art was an original artwork by the LA Street Phantom aka Joey Krebs aka Joel Jaramillo, a well-known Los Angeles artist who has exhibited at numerous galleries in Los Angeles, New York City and throughout the United States. Despite claims to the contrary, the image was not inspired by images from the 1992 street riots of LA or from images of Munich, but by the band's own music and words, and represents one in a series of images of the artist's work, which can also be seen on various street murals in Los Angeles.

The Battle of Los Angeles was heavily influenced by the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell. "Testify", "Sleep Now in the Fire", "Voice of the Voiceless", among other songs, include direct quotes from the novel, and mention key Orwellian terms in the lyrics.

Saul Williams sampled "Born of a Broken Man" for his song "Om Nia Merican", which appeared on his 2001 album Amethyst Rock Star.

In 2003, the album was ranked number 426 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Exodus

Bob Marley & The Wailers - Exodus
MFSL 24KT Gold Ultradisc II UDCD 628
Eac Flac | Eac Log + Cue | HQ Scans | ~250 Mb

Recorded in London following an attempt on his life, Exodus shows Bob Marley mellowing a bit. Despite some powerful political tracks, Marley adopts a less fiery, more reflective approach than his previous outings. Still, it's hard to find reggae as good as this. Exodus has all one would expect from a Bob Marley album: rumbling statements like "Exodus" and "The Heathen" as well as poetic love songs like "Turn Your Lights Down Low." Considering how good these tracks are, Exodus does not stop here. Marley also unleashed the huge international hits "Jamming," "Waiting in Vain," and "One Love/People Get Ready." These inspired tracks, perhaps more than any others, came to define Marley around the world. AMG ~ Thanks to the Original Releaser!

Steve Howell - Since I Saw You Last

Steve Howell - Since I Saw You Last (2010)
1 CD | EAC Rip | Flac, image + .cue, log-file | 280 Mb

There was a time when "acoustic guitar" brought to mind a duo or trio of musicians gently strumming away and creating sleepy folk music. This is the complete opposite approach of what acoustic guitar picker/singer Steve Howell specializes in -- an uptempo, fun style that manages to incorporate elements of blues and the U.S. south, as evidenced throughout his 2010 offering, Since I Saw You Last.

Having played alongside a variety of musicians since the '70s, it wasn't until the early 21st century that Howell finally set out on his own, resulting in what is his third solo effort overall (and third in a four-year span). Specializing in what is best described as a familiar yet charming style, Since I Saw You Last will appeal to fans of blues and rootsy folk -- especially such tunes as "Red Cadillac & Black Moustache," "I Won't Cry," "Wild About My Lovin'," and a cover of "Farmer John." After hearing Since I Saw You Last, you get the sense that penning memorable folk-blues tunes comes quite easy for the talented Mr. Howell.

Tracklist:

1. Downtown Blues (Stokes) [3:00]
2. Acadian Lullaby (Mize) [4:13]
3. Red Cadillac & a Black Moustache (May, Thompson) [3:16]
4. Farmer John (Harris, Terry) [3:28]
5. Charlie James (Lipscomb) [4:49]
6. I Won't Cry (LaBostrie, Ruffino) [4:07]
7. Wild About My Lovin' (Traditional) [4:53]
8. Since I Fell for You (Johnson) [4:55]
9. Easy Rider Blues [4:17]
10. Crawlin' King Snake (Besman, Hooker) [3:51]
11. Little Red Hen (Mahal) [3:35]
12. Ready for the River (Kahn, Moret) [3:18]

Joseph Haydn - Concertos pour Piano

Joseph Haydn - Concertos pour Piano | 2005
APE 1411 kbps | 44100 HZ Stereo | 256 MB

An exercise for composers and instrumentalists, with no ambition other than to offer a vague pleasure to the ear’: one hopes that the author of this judgment pronounced in 1771 went on to temper his remarks when he heard such masterpieces as Haydn’s concerto in D major, with its celebrated ‘Hungarian’ finale. It is true that in the last years of the Baroque period the genre was somewhat in eclipse: the Classical style was born of a certain facility – which is nonetheless highly entertaining! - Harmonia Mundi

John Lee Hooker - King Of The Boogie

John Lee Hooker - King Of The Boogie (2006)
2 CD | MP3 192 kbps | 76mb + 74mb

Product Description, Amazon:
Boogie Chillen, a seemingly spontaneous combination of spoken narrative and verses sung over brusque changes of pace on the guitar, became a #1 hit, and the first million-seller for John Lee Hooker. Bernie Besman recorded the bulk of Hooker’s output up to 1952, and nearly all the tracks on this album originate from that period.

Toto - Falling In Between

Toto Calling In Between (2006)
Mp3 - CBR 320kbps | 120MB | 50:20

After nearly 30 years of playing music together and enjoying worldwide success, much of it under the radar of an ever-changing and fickle music industry, Toto has once again joined their creative forces and recorded what could be their most personal album yet...

Produced and recorded by the band over a period of about nine months at Phantom Studios in Los Angeles. Lukather notes, “The new album is fresh, heavier, at times more progressive and of course still with some great songs and melodies embodying the classic TOTO imprint!”
Fans will find more than a few surprises on the record such as former member Steve Porcaro, former singer Joseph Williams' cameo on a duet with Steve Lukather and guests such as Ian Anderson (JETHRO TULL), the CHICAGO horn section and Jason Scheff, L. Shenkar (PETER GABRIEL), legendary percussionist Lenny Castro, legendary saxophone player Tom Scott, Roy Hargrove and others. The band brought their personal bests into this project and invited many friends to drop by the party and participate. The result is a record that was very much a team effort and a joy to make. “If this is the last record we make (and I hope it wont be)”, concludes Lukather, “we can walk away knowing we threw down the best we got. We hope people will enjoy and appreciate the love, fun, and passion that went into making This album”.

Pat Metheny Group - We Live Here

Pat Metheny Group - We Live Here
Label: Geffen Records | HQ MP3 | CBR-320kbps | 151MB

In this album the band uses "contemporary" pop rhythms on many of their selections but in creative ways and without watering down the popular group's musical identity. Have fun!

7. Something to Remind You
8. Red Sky - Album Version
9. Stranger in Town

Review by Scott Yanow

The first Pat Metheny Group recording in five years is a bit unusual in two ways. The band uses "contemporary" pop rhythms on many of their selections but in creative ways and without watering down the popular group's musical identity.
In addition Metheny for the first time in his recording career sounds a bit like his early influence Wes Montgomery on a few of the songs. With his longtime sidemen (keyboardist Lyle Mays, bassist Steve Rodby and drummer Paul Wertico) all in top form, Metheny successfully reconciles his quartet's sound with that of the pop music world, using modern technology to expand the possibilities of his own unusual vision of creative improvised music. And as a bonus, some of the melodies are catchy.

Funkadelic - Music For Your Mother

Funkadelic - Music For Your Mother, Funkladelic 45"s (1992)
P.Funk | 01:51:37 | mp3@320 | 258/774mb | booklet

"Music For Your Mother" is a compilation album by Funkadelic featuring songs recorded for Westbound Records during the band's career with that label from 1968 to 1976.

The compilation includes the A-sides and B-sides of every Funkadelic single released during Funkadelic's tenure at Westbound. Some of the tracks here originated as alternate versions of album tracks or as non album B-sides, and some were previously unreleased. Two tracks, "I Miss My Baby" and "Baby I Owe You Something Good" (original version) were originally released by Westbound under the group name U.S. Music With Funkadelic, which was probably meant to denote U.S. with music by Funkadelic or simply U.S. with Funkadelic. "U.S." refers to the band United Soul that had been discovered and produced by George Clinton in 1971, and which contained future Parliament-Funkadelic members Garry Shider and Cordell Mosson.
The CD booklet features an extensive 20,000-word article by music writer and Parliament-Funkadelic historian Rob Bowman. In the 2000s, many of the non LP tracks included in this anthology were added as bonus tracks on Westbound CD reissues of their respective original albums. I gotta say that this is, if not the best Funkadelic compilation released to date. You'll really wanna pick this one up, and add it to ya P Funk collections. Anonymus@Music.Fiend
